Toilet facilities

multiple dates

Emerald's toilets need a rethink. We are a growing community and also a major thoroughfare to neighbouring communities. We have outgrown our toilet facilities, and this is a matter of urgency, not to mention local pride. Part of exercise and recreation is making sure that there are clean and modern facilities vailable for all ages, abilities, and families.

EVER is pleased to announce that Cr. Jeff Springfield, and Cardinia Council have approved the renovation of the toilets near the new Hills Hub. This is currently in the design stage and will be installed when this is complete. EVER had nothing to do with this development, and are appreciative of the initiatev of councile to make this happen. Well done.

An outline of Cardinia Council's Toilet Strategy can be found here.

Cardinia Council manages 35 toilets in it's council area, and for a toilet to be updated or replaced our council has identified that the following criteria must be met:

  • demonstrated community need for replacement or refurbishment

  • the existing toilet is in poor condition

  • whether the toilet has a low or high level of usage

  • whether there is appropriate gender provison in the facility

  •  Are there issues with ongoing anti-social behaviour?

  • Does the toilet have appropriate facilities for the location?

  • Does the existing toilet meet the requirements of the General Principles? Which can be found on pages 5-7 of the CARDINIA SHIRE COUNCIL
    Public Toilet Strategy 2020 - 2030

EVER would like to see accessible, clean, sustainable, modern and enough toilet facilities to accomodate our community and visitors passing through.

The toilets in our main community areas (near the hub, at Puffing Billy Park, and by Mitre 10) are all in desperate need of repair or replacement.
