Puffing Billy Park

Emerald Victoria- date of last update 1994

 

The community of Emerald are coming together with other local community groups to help drive action for a full refubishment of Puffing Billy Park. The last significant update to this park was made over 25 years ago.

As the jewel in the crown of the Dandenong Ranges, our locals deserve more than to be a stopping point for visitors. The pandemic has not only made clear that we are able to drive action to update and modernise our spaces, but that since we LIVE here we should have the same quality of parks and recreation spaces available to us that our neighbouring, and "flatland" suburbs have. The land is owned by Puffing Billy Railway and managed by Cardinia Council.

This park will one day be a gathering space for all generations. Our community is asking for multi-age play spaces, shelters, additional seating, cooking facilities, and updated toilet facilities.

We want a park that we can be proud of, in the centre of our town. A gathering space, a play space, and an activation space for the surrounding businesses.
